05 Jul Five Days of Food Fun for Kids – Day 2
We often tell our kids not to play with their food, but this week is an exception!
With the school holidays upon us, every day for the next five days I will be posting a food-based activity that your children can do to beat the “boredom”! Each activity is different, and involves using food, but doesn’t necessarily involve eating food! Check in each day to see what the new activity is!
Day 2 – Food Stamps
You will need:
Chopped food (we used a selection of fruit, veg and nuts)
Paint and paint brushes
This is a great activity for kids that allows them to use their imagination and creativity. In addition, you can also use this activity as a great conversation starter about where the various foods come from, or the benefits of eating each of the foods.
Step 1: Get the kids to paint the food, or dip it into the paint.
Step 2: The kids can create their own masterpiece by experimenting with the different foods to see what design they can make.
Step 3: Let it dry.
Easy peasy! Now they have a wonderful food masterpiece!
Note: Make sure you let them know they CAN’T eat the food once it is painted!
Check in tomorrow for Day 3 of Five Days of Food Fun!
